The quarter final between Germany and Czech Republic was just as tight match than was expected.
The game winning goal was made when 1.53 of overtime has been played. The scorer was Czech´s Martin Vozdecky.
Czechs won the game 10-9 (1-1, 4-2, 2-3, 2-3, 1-0) and got into semifinals.
In the first period the game was very controlled and both teams managed to score only once. In the second period it seemed that Czechs will run from Germany when Ales Hemsky scored twice and led Czechs to 5-2 lead.
But the lead was not strong enough. Germany has went already to lead when only 3.30 of the third period has been played. After this 7-6 lead for Germans neither team got bigger atvantage than one goal.
Germany made their ninth goal when there was only 56 seconds left of the game. But even that was not enough. Czechs scored only 15 seconds before the end of the game and overtime was needed.
Martin Vozdecky made both 9th and 10th goal to Czechs. Czech Repblic was the first team which made their way to semifinals. |
